1. About the definition of bi–metal composite wear-resistant plate
Bimetallic clad wear-resistant steel or wear-resistant plate is a plate product used under easy-wear conditions. It is mainly cladded on ordinary steel plates or heat-resistant steel plates and stainless steel plates. The most popular ones are The alloy composition of the wear-resistant layer.
Bimetallic wear-resistant composite steel plates are widely used in heavy industry, providing important wear-resistant protection measures to improve the service life of equipment and work pieces, improve corporate production efficiency, and reduce costs and other industrial equipment and work piece wear and failure.

2. Characteristics of bi–metal wear-resistant composite steel plate
Bimetallic wear-resistant composite steel plates usually use open arc self-protection and fully automatic surfacing technology to surface a layer of high-alloy, wear resistant layer with high hardness and high wear resistance on the surface of ordinary steel plates or stainless steel. This kind of wear-resistant steel plate has bimetallic properties, that is, high wear resistance of the working layer and high plastic toughness of the base layer, and can realize reeling, welding, plasma cutting, mechanical continuous processing, etc. The overall thickness of the wear-resistant layer is uniform, and the surface is smooth. The flatness of the entire steel plate is equivalent to that of ordinary carbon steel plates. The surface of the wear-resistant layer will be affected by stress release and will produce cracks. Such cracks only exist in the wear-resistant surfacing layer and will not extend to the base layer. Stress-release cracks can greatly reduce the residue within a reasonable range during welding. Cracks inside will not affect use.
High carbon and high chromium alloy are the main components of the wear-resistant layer. According to different requirements and usage conditions, high-temperature-resistant, wear-resistant plates also contain alloy elements such as MO, W, V, B, Nb, Ti, etc. The metal lographic structure of the wear-resistant layer Provides a one-time carbide or complex carbide for eutectic + M7C3, which can achieve high wear resistance at normal temperature, high temperature, strong impact, medium impact, and low-stress impact.
3. Application fields of wear-resistant plates
Composite wear-resistant steel plates can be used for surface strengthening of various wear-prone equipment parts in metallurgical machinery, cement building materials, electric machinery, mining machinery and other industries. Compared with other wear-resistant plates, composite wear-resistant steel plates have a long service life, reducing customers’ usage costs and improving product quality!

Method of surfacing composite panels
Surfacing composite panels are a commonly used repair material that can play an important role in mechanical equipment, building structures and other fields.
A cladding composite panel is made of two or more different materials through a cladding process. It usually consists of base material, deposited layer and interface layer. Commonly used base materials include low alloy steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, etc.; the deposited layer can choose wear-resistant materials, corrosion-resistant materials, etc.; the interface layer is set up to achieve a good combination between the base material and the deposited layer. By rationally selecting the combination of different materials, cladding composite panels can withstand various forces and corrosion in different environments.
There are many methods for making cladding composite panels. Two of the commonly used methods will be introduced below.

Explosive cladding welding
This method uses explosive shock waves to cool and solidify the melted deposited material and substrate, bonding them tightly.
The explosive cladding welding method is fast and efficient and can be widely used in preparing cladding welding of various metal materials.
Arc cladding method
This method uses the high temperature generated by an arc welding current to melt the deposited material and the base material, mix them through liquid diffusion, and cool and solidify them to form a cladding composite plate.
The cladding composite panel prepared by the arc cladding method has good sealing and corrosion resistance and is suitable for use in many special environments.
For example, in marine engineering, seawater is very corrosive, so choosing materials with good corrosion resistance for surfacing preparation is important.
In petrochemical equipment, high-temperature and pressure resistance are must-have characteristics of cladding composite panels.
The ability to resist wear is key in mechanical equipment, so wear-resistant materials must be added to the cladding composite panels.
Surfacing composite panels are an important repair material. Through the surfacing process, the performance advantages of different materials can be fully utilized to meet the needs of different environments.
Explosion and arc cladding are commonly used methods for preparing cladding composite panels, and their application fields are also very wide.
In practical applications, selecting appropriate materials and surfacing methods according to specific needs can support the development of various industries.
